Mall of the Emirates A Spectacular Tourist Attraction in Dubai

Mall of the Emirates

The Dubai Shopping Festival has been famous all over the world and it has also highlighted the magnificent malls which are no less than any tourist attractions. In fact, tourist especially go to these malls in Dubai to check them out and enjoy the wonderful attractions within them. If you ask residents of Dubai about their favorite malls, they all will have different opinions because of the number of attractions each mall has. Mall of the Emirates is my personal favorite because this is the first mall of Dubai, I visited when I moved to Dubai. My residence was just a 5 minutes’ walk from the mall and most of my evenings were spent here eating my favorite food, sipping up on my favorite coffee, tasting ice-cream flavors and ending up with late night movies. It was a usual thing for me to leave so late that, all the shops and gates were closed. Thanks to my apartment being near the mall, otherwise it was very hard to find taxi at such late hours.

It is a fact that Dubai Mall is the largest mall in the country and the most visited building in the planet, but Mall of the Emirates is something which no other mall could be. It is a class that is distinctive as soon as you enter the premises. The sports and luxury cars standing outside the mall will instantly catch your attention and the mall welcomes you with its magnificent architecture and the luxurious atmosphere. You will notice many models and may spot some celebrities shopping in this mall. The mall has its own metro station with a couple of 5-star hotels attached to it (The Kempinski Mall of the Emirates and Sheraton Dubai). The multi-level shopping mall is not as big as Dubai Mall, but it still features more than 600 retail outlets, around 80 luxury stores and over 100 restaurants and cafes.

Wonderful Attractions at Mall of the Emirates

Ski Dubai (World’s Largest Indoor Ski Destination)

Ski Dubai World’s Largest Indoor Ski Destination)

Dubai got its fame worldwide with the tallest building in the world, the largest mall in the world, the tallest residential building in the world, the first man made island of the world, most skyscrapers in an area in the world and the list continues to more than 1000 things. Ski Dubai is also on the list and is famous as the world’s largest indoor ski park and all of it is inside the Mall of The Emirates. The Ski Dubai is one of the top tourist attractions in Dubai where most of the people come to see the wonder of an Iceland right between the desert.

The Ski Dubai is visible to the passersby because of a glass front from where you can see all the fun happening inside. I think the glass front does a lot of marketing and attracts many people to decide on buying the ticket to experience the fun. You can easily spend a day at the Ski Dubai as there are so many activities like skiing, snowboarding, chair lifts and gondola ride that takes you down rolling on the ice. There are also camping facilities provided on the icy slopes of this place which makes it a wonderful experience. The ticket for camping costs around AED750 but you will feel like you are in St. Moritz, Switzerland where you can stay for 8 hours and enjoy the breakfast in the St Moritz café on site.

The main attractions at Ski Dubai include snowboarding, toboggan, zip line, ice cave, ski school and Penguins. Yes! They also have penguins in the Ski Dubai, and you can have a real up-close and personal encounter with them. These Gentoo and King Penguins are the resident colony of Ski Dubai which also present a march for spectators.

Dreamscape lets you enter a virtual reality world filled with excitement and adventures. The free roaming virtual reality technology lets you move around freely in a magical world where you will meet a dragon, aliens, majestic beasts and will view breathtaking landscapes. The VR technology has been improved a lot and it makes visitors feel that everything is almost real in the virtual world.

The interesting VR features of Dreamscape are the exploration of deep ocean, playing a role in saving the world, learning how to train a dragon, and interacting with aliens.

Magic Planet

Magic Planet

Magic Planet has always been my favorite spot because I love games and rides and also because of the fact the TGI Fridays next to it let me eat late nights when all other restaurants were closed. Magic Planet is more like a playground for kids like me or may be younger than me. It has many award-winning rides and games on two levels. I did win an excessively big ball around four times, as I was able to kick down all the buckets with a football. In the end, I had no place to keep those huge balls and gifted three of them to my friends.

Yalla Bowling at Mall of the Emirates

Yalla Bowling is where I have spent a lot of my evenings waiting for the dinner time. I was living near the mall and it was my stop over before heading to home. The management is also very professional and friendly. Sometimes it gets busy especially on public holidays and you may have to wait for hours to get your turn. It is right next to the Magic Planet and has around 12 bowling lanes.

The Extraordinary Vox Cinema

The Extraordinary Vox Cinema

This is the cinema where I watched the first Avengers movie and many other movies. I am always up for the latest movies and most of the time I prefer watching movies late night. The cinema is huge with so many screens and options that you will always get a movie to watch. There is another big cinema in the Dubai Mall which has the largest number of screens in Dubai.
